Literature Text

My insides tighten into a mass of tangled organs
A thick lump lodges in my throat
My chest aches with reality
Sorrow bleeds out of my eyes

The ghosts of words unspoken haunts me
Your dreams forever a fantasy
Your body eternally seventeen

However this raw pain brought me to realize
That I love you
I didn't know it
And you will never know

I never thought to see you again
But you slipped into my sleep
"How?" I asked.
"They were rubber bullets, they bounced right off," You explained
I embraced you tightly
"You have no idea how much I cried over you," I said.
And then reality tore me awake
A bittersweet flavor spreads in my mouth
Writing helps me to deal with things and today I miss him.
